Hi– I'm the author of the comics Haunter, It Never Happened Again, and New Construction, and I’ve worked as a writer or storyboarder on Adventure Time, Carol and the End of the World, Summer Camp Island, and other animated shows.
I have two Ignatz Awards for comics and a Peabody Award for animation. My stories were published in the Best American Comics series three times, and my book New Construction was a finalist for the LA Times Book Prize.
I’ve also taught at USC Roski School of Art and Design, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, and The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark; and I’ve given talks at Parsons School of Design, Rutgers University, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, DePaul University, and the Center for Cartoon Studies.
My work has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Hazlitt, McSweeney’s, Juxtapoz, ProPublica, Buzzfeed, Uncivilized Books, EdSurge, Slate, Urban Outfitters, and Cicada Magazine.
